Plastering firm appoints contracts manager
SPECIALIST plastering and flooring company Tabner Plastering Contractors has announced a key management appointment.
Eric Atkins, 62, joins Middlesbrough-based Tabner as contracts manager after running his own plastering company in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
A second generation plasterer, Mr Atkins took over the running of H Atkins & Sons from his father, building it up to become one of South Yorkshire’s leading plastering contractors, employing more than 120. He has now passed on the running of the business to his own sons.
Tabner, based in Skippers Lane, carries out contract work on behalf of many of the region’s leading house builders and construction companies. It employs more than 30 plasterers and flooring specialists.
Dave Tabner, the firm’s founder and managing director, says: “We have been after a first-rate contracts manager for a long time – looking in vain it seemed. We had just giving up advertising the post when Eric became available. As well as overseeing all site operations, I am confident Eric will use his wealth of experience to seek out new developments for the company, notably in external wall rendering, an area in which he has particular expertise.”
Mr Atkins said: “I am delighted to be part of Tabner Plasterers and the welcome and help I have received from the management team and workforce is overwhelming and much appreciated. I did not realise how warm and friendly the northeast people were and already feel part of the area.
